I recently I gave a talk about email marketing to a local networking group. It was encouraging.
I don’t know if I’m getting better at the message, or if businesses are finally starting to see the opportunities. A super-engaged group with a lot of GOOD questions.
We didn’t get bogged down with trivial stuff and tools. Lots of high-level discussion about how to use email and make sales.
I think a lot of it was due to how I framed the talk. I started out with WHY email. With local B&M businesses, I’m finding they have no goal for their email program and no idea how it fits within their marketing plan. They’re just doing it because it’s expected.
Email allows you to SCALE CONVERSATIONS over TIME. That’s why it’s important. That’s the problem it solves for businesses.
Standing back and looking at your business, what problem does email solve for you? What would you have to do differently if we didn’t have this cool tech?
