ONTRAPORT tracks your visitors’ movements
One of the great things about ONTRAPORT is its ability to tie your website in with your email marketing and automation. ONTRAPORT keeps a record of every page your contacts visit on your website. Using this data, you can create rules and sequences that fire based on your prospects behavior on your site.
If a prospect visits a product description page but doesn’t buy the product, you might want to follow up with a special offer specific to that product. Or maybe send an email to ask if they need more information about the product.
What if a customer visits your product support page? You could create a task to call the customer and check in.
The possibilities are endless – and powerful.
ONTRAPORT web tracking in action
You will find a detailed history of all your contacts’ actions on your website in your contact record. Look for the Contact History tab. Here you will find a listing of all the emails this contact has received as well as all their site visits. The site visits are grouped by day. By clicking on the Visit link you will open up a listing of every page that was visited on that date. Only five pages are shown at any one time. Look for the pages arrows to scroll through all the page visits.

Tracking Script
Most new users to ONTRAPORT think you need to install PilotPress, to track page visits on your website. Not true.
There are actually two ways to track visitors to your site using ONTRAPORT. PilotPress and ONTRAPORT’s Tracking Script.
The tracking code is simply a piece of JavaScript you cut and paste into the header section of any web page you wish to track. It works the exact same way as Google Analytics or the Facebook Tracking Pixel.
Most WordPress themes have a place to paste a script into the header that will make it appear on every page.
You find your unique tracking code in the Administration section of ONTRAPORT. Look for the Get Tracking Code option in the lower right corner. Simply cut and paste this code to your site.
You’ll be up and tracking in no time!
