I’ll start by saying this has nothing to do with email. But it is a good business concept.
I was watching World War Z the other night. I know, I’m way behind.
In the movie, the Israeli’s adopted a concept called the tenth man. Evidentially, Israel has made some really bad strategic decisions in the past because 9 guys all looked at the situation and unanimously agreed on a plan. No one challenged them. This turned out to be catastrophic for them.
So they adopted the idea of the tenth man. His job is to challenge everything. To be the Devil’s Advocate. To plan for the opposite of what everyone else thinks will happen.
I did a little Googling and supposedly, this is a real thing.
I think back to every bad decision I’ve made in business and wish I had this in place. If someone had challenged, I mean REALLY challenged, the status quo, then I may not have made the decisions I did. At least maybe I would have been prepared when things didn’t go the way of the plan.
No real point here, just thinking how I might use this in my business and thought I’d share.
