I’m the King of squirrel. I like a shiny object even better than the next guy. But I know that I’m not even on the scale compared to other entrepreneurs out there.
Fun story…
I have a friend that sat in on a webinar where the guy was showing about 20 different plugins for your WordPress site. My friend downloaded and installed them all without even knowing what they were or why he needed them! But they looked cool. Can you believe it broke his site? Uh.
This is just one of many distractions I see marketers suffer from daily.
Usually, it’s marketing overwhelm. There are so many channels and tools available for marketing today. Too many smart entrepreneurs get caught up in the hype-of-the-week. Webinar Jam. Click Funnels (I fell for this one). AppSumo. Camtasia. Thrive.
It’s easy to do. They all sound so simple. “Just install this and watch your sales soar!”
Meanwhile, we’re off working on a new project when we haven’t finished the last two. Nothing gets marketed and we continue to bump along.
Notice I said “we.” I’m equally guilty. King of Squirrel, remember?
In an attempt to keep myself on track, I’m laying out my weekly plan for the next quarter. What products do I need to finish? What sales pages do I need to make? What emails do I need to write?
I’m laying out a simple Excel sheet with a column for each week. What ONE (maybe two) items do I want to accomplish each week that take me closer to my end goal?
