Email delivery is a big deal.
Let me say that again…
Email delivery is a BIG DEAL.
If your email never reaches your prospects’ inbox, it doesn’t matter what your subject line is or how great your copy reads. They’ll never see it.
So what to do?
One of the easiest, and often overlooked, tricks to email delivery is to get your prospects to signal to their email client that they want your emails – from the very first interaction.
The more your prospect interacts with your emails, the better your chance of landing on the ‘nice’ list and not the ‘naughty’.
That’s why it’s a good idea to deliver your freebie in your first email. It may be a better customer experience for them to land on a thank you page that contains your freebie, but that doesn’t require them to ever interact with any of your emails. Download your free gift and they’re gone.
They don’t need to open or click on anything in an email.
Engaging with you from the very first email also starts to set a pattern of your future relationship. It trains your prospect that you’ll expect them to do things. Even if it’s as simple as clicking on a link.
This simple action starts to build trust with your prospect. They are learning that good things happen when they click. Eventually, you’ll want them to click through and buy. So start ’em early.
At the same time, your prospect is telling Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and others they WANT your emails.
